Touted as one of the best New Year’s Eve celebrations in Florida, the Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown is a free street festival full of fun and excitement for children and adults. Each year revelers pack downtown to ring in the New Year and see the magnificent lighted anchor drop at midnight. Festivities for kids include bounce houses, inflatables, face painting, games, contests, dancing with the DJ, and a special kids countdown. When night falls, the party begins for adults with live music!

Traffic Advisory
The following road closures will be in effect for the City of Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl
Downtown Countdown taking place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Beginning on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 7 a.m.:
• SW 2nd Street from SW 5th Avenue east to SW 4th Avenue will be closed
Beginning on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 7 a.m.:
• SW 2nd Street from SW 5th Avenue east to SW 1st Avenue will be closed until 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 1
• The westbound lane of SW 2nd Street from SW 7th Avenue to SW 5th Avenue will be closed. During this time, access to the Broward Center will be accommodated using the eastbound lane of SW 2nd Street. Please follow all traffic attendant instructions.
• SW 2nd Avenue south of Broward Boulevard will be closed
• SW 5th Avenue south of the parking garage entrance will be closed
• SW 4th Avenue south of SW 2nd Street will be closed
• Access to SW 2nd, SW 3rd, and SW 4th Avenues south of Broward Boulevard will be restricted to residents who live in the area and employees of businesses on those streets.
All roads will reopen Thursday, January 1, at 9 a.m.
