Aleksandra is a passionate and experienced tennis coach who has been playing since the age of three and competing in USTA tournaments throughout Florida. Her lifelong involvement in the sport, along with training under some of the region’s top coaches, gives her a strong foundation in both technique and match play.

Since 2017, Aleksandra has been teaching at George English Tennis Center and Jimmy Evert Tennis Center where she works with juniors and adults of all levels, from beginners to advanced players. She is a certified tennis professional with an elite certification, as well as a certified pickleball instructor, offering well-rounded racquet sports coaching.

Aleksandra introduced the Liveball adult tennis program at George English Tennis Center, which has become a popular and engaging way for players to improve while enjoying a high-energy, social environment. Her coaching focuses on proper technique, smart strategy, and consistent progress, all tailored to each player’s goals.

With a supportive and motivating approach, Aleksandra is dedicated to helping every client build confidence, improve their game, and enjoy the process.

Javier Gamarra is a passionate and dedicated tennis coach committed to helping players of all ages and skill levels grow their game while developing a genuine love for the sport. Known for his positive energy and personalized approach, Javier focuses on building strong fundamentals, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for tennis.

He has extensive experience working with a wide range of players, including beginners, competitive athletes, and individuals with specialized needs. Javier is certified as a Professional Tennis Coach, Wheelchair Tennis Coach, Autism Tennis Coach, and Pickleball Coach, allowing him to create inclusive and effective training environments for every player.

Javier holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and restaurant management from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, UK, which enhances his ability to connect with clients and provide a professional, welcoming coaching experience.

Tennis is truly a family passion. His daughter is also a tennis coach bringing an added level of enthusiasm and dedication to everything he does on the court.

Experience

Originally from East Haven, Connecticut, Ken has been teaching tennis over four decades. Most infamously known for having interviewed Mohammed Ali at 17 years old while training for the “Rumble in the Jungle” against George Foreman, it’s Ken’s tennis pedigree that stands out to us. Most notably, he’s coached professionally at highly acclaimed tennis destinations like Marriot Beach Resorts and Club Med. This includes a brief stint as intramural tennis coach at Yale University under Fritz Barzilsukas (’79). Between 1991-2006, Ken played competitively, winning multiple singles titles in various divisions culminating in a career high #4 ranking in Florida (USPTA 2006). He’s been a staple of the team at Jimmy Evert Tennis Center the last 28 years.

Experience

T.J. Urhobo was born in Gainesville, Florida but grew up in Nigeria with his father who was the National Olympic and Athletic Track & Field Coach for Nigeria. T.J. learned from watching his father train world class athletes and is applying that knowledge towards following his own passion to produce tennis champions. He specializes as a developmental and high-performance coach willing to work with anyone committed to discovering their potential. As a player, T.J. proved to be quite an athlete himself earning five City of Fort Lauderdale Singles titles, seven Broward County Top-Gun titles, and named the American Tennis Association’s National Open Champion (2014) between 2007-2016. He is also a former member of the Nigerian National Tennis Team and the recipient of the 2007 Instructor & Mentor Award for the inaugural class of First Serve Broward. He’s been with the team since 2002 and gaining national fame for his parenting & coaching ability having groomed the most successful 12U junior player in American history to a National Open Singles and Doubles Championships in 2019 (Akasha Urhobo).

Maurice Wiley as worked as an instructor for Coral Springs Tennis Center and Parkland Tennis Center here in the Fort Lauderdale area the last couple of years before joining our team in 2019. Maurice was the #3 player for the College of Lake County, Grayslake Illinois 1980-1981 where he was the singles runner up in the state regionals and qualified for state championships. He also worked with the Chicago inner-city youth football program for four years. Maurice has a passion for working with kids, developing youth programs and giving back to his community. Maurice is available for private and group lessons for all ages.
