The City of Fort Lauderdale is currently in the process of implementing improvements to your parks! With dedicated funding of $200 million, secured through the public-approved general obligation bond, the City is excited to be moving ahead with the planning, design, and construction of improvements in more than 90 parks throughout your community. These improvements will help ensure that Fort Lauderdale will continue to provide world-class parks to be enjoyed by all residents now and into the future.

Current Projects
Esterre Davis Wright Park
The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with KOMPAN, Inc. to replace the existing playground, construct a new outdoor fitness area, and complete accessibility improvements at Esterre Davis Wright Park.
Construction Schedule
Demolition of the existing playground is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11, 2026, and will take approximately two weeks.
Construction of the new improvements will last approximately 6 weeks after demolition and site preparation have been completed.
All construction activities will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
All improvements and a full reopening of the new playground and outdoor fitness area are expected to be completed in early July 2026. This is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.
Impacts
- The playground area will be closed for the duration of construction.
- Elevated noise levels shall be expected for the first two weeks of construction while demolition is performed.
- The existing parking along SW 24th Street will be limited during the eight weeks of construction.
- There may be minimal impacts along SW 24th Street, although a full road closure is not anticipated.
- Please follow all posted signs and drive with caution.
Harbordale Park
The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with KOMPAN, Inc. to replace the existing playground, construct a new outdoor fitness area, and complete accessibility improvements at Harbordale Park.
Construction Schedule
Demolition of the existing playground is scheduled to begin in May 2026 and will take approximately two weeks.
Construction of the new improvements will last approximately six weeks after demolition and site preparation have been completed.
All construction activities will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
All improvements and a full reopening of the new playground and outdoor fitness area are expected to be completed by early July 2026. This is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.
