Dear Athletes, Members, Neighbors, and Visitors,
Construction has resumed around the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center since May 2025. We are currently in phase 1 of the International Swimming Hall of Fame Project. Due to the construction, there may be periodic and unexpected modifications to our services and programs.
During this time, we will do our best to minimize disruptions and maintain the operations of all programs. However, please be prepared for the possibility of temporary adjustments, which may include changes in schedules, availability of certain areas of the facility, temporary closures, parking, traffic, and adjustments for how we conduct our operation.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process. Our top priority is ensuring that your experience remains safe and enjoyable during your time here. We will keep you informed of any significant updates or changes as we receive more information as well. Updates will be provided to you on the website or from the coaching staff.
Thank you for being a valued member of our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you,
FLAC Management and Staff
UPDATES:
11-19-25:
- The seawall project for the barrier island will begin setting up and then start on this work. Due to developing information, we believe about 20 spots will be available at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center (FLAC) for use, possibly more and this will continue for several weeks.
- While we await for updated developments on this from the developer of the project, we anticipate access to the aquatic center will be limited to pedestrians and bicyclists for a short term.
- Parking at the Las Olas Garage or any parking lot outside of the facility are options, as parking at FLAC will be very limited with small/no availability to park.
- Be aware active work hours is anticipated to be between 8:00am - 3:00pm.
- Lap swim is planned to continue as normal, but may change as we have started changing programming hours to best accommodate this work.
11-21-25:
- In addition to the update on 11-19-25, we will be having well drillers on site, starting December 1, 2025, taking up parking spots as an emergency repair for our heaters will be done.
- All will be done to minimize the time this work is needed to be completed, but be aware parking will be limited further.
11-25-25:
- Seawall piling will be starting 12/1/25. They are setting the parking lot up to start this work (currently taking a handful of spots) with the large crane. Traffic and parking spots will be limited, as they take more spots over from the parking lot.
12-1-25:
- Crane in position, and less space needed then initially told. Have more parking spots, but be aware their is one lane traffic, needing all who enter to yield and be patient going in/out of parking lot.
