Pool Equipment Mechanic
Starting Salary: $20.08-$31.12 ($41,766.40 - $64,729.60)
Depending on applicable work experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The employee in this class oversees water chemistry, maintenance, and repairs of City operated swimming pools, following the guidelines of local Department of Health, State of Florida and national industry standards.
- Pool Equipment Mechanic Flyer
- Maintains, repairs, and replaces pool equipment, plumbing, electrical, and ancillary pool systems for proper function, performance, and safety.
- Installs equipment such as filters, pumps, chlorinators, and heaters.
- Testing equipment for safety and effectiveness.
- Providing chemical treatments to restore water to correct levels.
- Managing pool records.
Recreation Camp Director (Licensed After-School or Summer Camp)
Starting Salary: $17.92 Hourly*
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An employee in this class is responsible for providing program instruction and supervision in a licensed after-school or summer camp program at a City recreational facility.
- Current Directors’ Credential (applicable for licensed after-school personnel only)
- High school diploma or GED
- Local/FDLE background screening
- Pediatric CPR and first aid
- Experience working in summer camps is preferred
Recreation Specialist I (Licensed After-School or Summer Camp)
Starting Salary: $15.82 Hourly*
JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position is responsible for providing effective programming and instruction in fitness, dance, art, cooking, science, reading, or other recreational classes. They may serve as a sports official, scorekeeper, or coach during youth or teen sports or as a food monitor during summer camp or after-school programs.
- Licensed After-School/Summer Camp Specialty Instructor
- Licensed after-school personnel will be required to complete additional documentation and forms to ensure county and state compliance
- High school diploma or GED
- Local/FDLE background screening (if applicable)
- Pediatric CPR and first aid

Recreation Worker (Licensed After-School or Summer Camp)
Starting Salary: $13.50 Hourly ($15.22 Hourly with Teaching Certificate)*
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The employee in this class, under general supervision, is responsible for the organization and personal leadership of a variety of recreation activities in an indoor and/or outdoor recreation center or facility.
- Licensed after-school personnel will be required to complete additional documentation and forms to ensure county and state compliance (if applicable)
- 40 hours Child Care Training (transcripts required if applicable)
- 24-hour child care in-service training annually (if applicable)
- High school diploma or GED • Local/FDLE background screening
- Pediatric CPR and first aid
- Experience working in licensed after-school program or summer camp is preferred
Recreation Bus Driver
Starting Salary: $18.60 Hourly*
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An employee in this class is responsible for driving a multi passenger vehicle (bus, van, minivan, etc.) to transport program participants safely from one location to another.
- Must possess a current and valid Florida Driver License CDL-B with school bus and passenger endorsement
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record
- Must pass a medical examination for commercial driver fitness
- Licensed after-school personnel will be required to complete additional documentation and forms to ensure county and state compliance
- 40 hours Child Care Training (transcripts required)
- 24-hour child care in-service training annually
- High school diploma or GED
- Local/FDLE background screening
- Pediatric CPR and first aid
- Experience working in licensed after-school program is preferred
Recreation Clerk
Starting Salary: $13.50 Hourly*
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An employee in this role performs clerical duties at one of the City’s recreation facilities. Duties may vary depending on facility assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or be a graduating senior
- Must be 18 years or older unless a graduating senior (17 years old)
- Local/FDLE background screening
- Six months clerical experience preferred
- RecTrac trained with in first 30 days of hire
Recreation Specialist III - Water Aerobics Instructor
Starting Salary: $21.34 Hourly*
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, the Water Aerobics Instructor is responsible for providing effective programming in the area of Water Aerobics Instruction.
- Possess a valid American Red CPR/AED certification and First Aid certificate
- United States Water Fitness Association Certification or equivalent preferred
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification or equivalent preferred
Recreation Lifeguard I
Starting Salary: $17.35 Hourly
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a valid American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid certificate, or equivalent, prior to appointment
- All required certifications, whether possessed at time of application or obtained after appointment, must be kept current to continue employment in this class
- Must be able to successfully pass a performance test which includes simulated pool rescues. This test must be successfully passed every six (6) months after employment
- A valid Florida driver license may be required
- Higher starting salary may be offered based on experience and qualifications
*Starting salary may increase up to 10 percent depending on experience and education.
